The Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) is continuing to monitor the situation regarding Coronavirus and is in close contact with the Scottish Government and other regulators and awarding bodies throughout the UK, including the Department for Transport, DVSA and the Petroleum Driver Passport Management Group.
We are following the latest scientific and medical advice provided by the Scottish, and UK governments, and we are working to maintain service delivery.
In order to protect staff welfare, as well as deliver on our contract obligations in a safe manner, we have temporarily closed our office. Our administration team delivering the Dangerous Goods Driver Training and Petroleum Driver Passport schemes are continuing to work remotely.
As our team will be working remotely, our telephone line will remain closed, and we ask that you direct any queries to the relevant email address:
Printing of ADR and PDP Photocard certificates will be impacted for the temporary period of our office closure. In order to ensure that ADR candidates are not impacted we have agreed Authorisation No 946 with the Department for Transport. Similarly, for PDP candidates we have introduced special dispensation which will be issued to each driver affected.
The temporary closure of our office also means we will be unable to collect any posted examination materials. For this temporary period all examination materials for paper-based exams can be scanned and uploaded to the “Documents” tab of the course record within the DGDT/PDP database. Please ensure the correct ordering of exam papers as per the Manual of Practice. When uploaded, please confirm the upload with an email to our administration team including the course number. This will allow us to access the materials to mark all paper-based examinations.
We appreciate your support and understanding as we take these steps to protect our staff and make our best efforts to deliver our services.
We hope you, your colleagues and families all remain safe and well.
